CAITLIN BAKER WINS 2025 TRANCHE SCHOLARSHIP
Congratulations to our Restaurant Manager, Caitlin Baker, on receiving the 2025 Tranche Scholarship. Created by Michael Hill Smith AM MW and his family, the coveted program invests in future leaders of wine and hospitality, funding educational travel and professional development opportunities.
This opportunity builds on the wealth of experience Caitlin brings to her role at Cutler. Prior to joining us, she was Chief of Staff for hatted Canberra venues Pilot and Such & Such. Her genuine ability to connect with guests, paired with deep wine knowledge, saw her named Sommelier of the Year (NSW & ACT) by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide in 2024.
Alongside her work in venue leadership, Caitlin is the driving force behind industry initiatives Venus Vinifera, a not-for-profit she founded in 2020 to improve education and opportunities for women in hospitality, and Subject Matters, which aims to increase tenure in hospitality and build a more connected and educated community.
As we speak, Caitlin has embarked on her trip to attend the MAD Symposium in Copenhagen - originally seeded by NOMA and aimed at supporting stronger hospitality business, fostering fairer workplaces and advancing more sustainable food systems. Caitlin will also visit grassroots initiatives overseas that are reimagining hospitality culture.
We're proud to see Caitlin recognised on this scale and excited for all that her travels will inspire at Cutler. Upon her return, she'll bring these experiences directly back into her work with us, continuing to shape a stronger and more connected industry here at home. We look forward to learning from her.
